Normal use is welcome

You may browse this website, follow its links, save pages for reference, and use assistive technology or ordinary browser tools. Public access does not authorize access to non-public systems or information.

This policy applies to the use of derickladwig.ca. It complements the terms of use.

Do not interfere or misuse

Do not attempt to access accounts, files, services, or infrastructure without authorization. Do not bypass security controls, exploit a vulnerability, or use another person’s credentials.

Do not intentionally overload the site, disrupt another visitor’s access, introduce malicious code, send deceptive or abusive messages, or use the website to facilitate unlawful activity.

Do not impersonate the operator or another person, make misleading claims of affiliation, or collect personal information without an appropriate lawful basis. Use of the site does not give you ownership of its content or third-party material.

Automated access

Legitimate search indexing and accessibility tools are not prohibited by this policy. Automated access must respect technical controls and use a request rate that does not interfere with normal availability.

A robots file is a crawler instruction, not permission to bypass restrictions or copy material without the rights needed to do so. Attempts to evade a block or continue after access has been restricted are not permitted.

Security concerns

Do not test vulnerabilities against the live site without prior authorization. If you encounter a possible security issue during normal use, stop interacting with the affected area and avoid accessing, modifying, or sharing another person’s information.

A useful report describes the affected address, what happened, and when it happened. Do not include passwords, private records, or exploit payloads. Existing correspondents can raise concerns through their established channel with Derick Ladwig.

This website does not operate a public bug-bounty programme or offer payment for unsolicited testing.

Protecting the website

Traffic that threatens security or availability may be blocked, rate-limited, or investigated. Relevant technical information may be retained or disclosed when necessary to investigate abuse or meet a legal obligation.

Security controls can sometimes affect legitimate visitors. A report should include the address and error message, but not confidential data. This policy does not authorize retaliation, interception, or access to any other system.
